Frequently asked questions

I'm paid a referral fee by the buyer. It costs you nothing.

What data counts?

Records your company created in the normal course of business, for example:

  • CRM records and sales notes
  • Support tickets and customer conversations
  • Internal documents, wikis and SOPs
  • Source code and commit history
  • Project boards and task histories
  • Invoices and operational records

Older, larger and well-organised sets tend to be most useful. Whether a specific set fits depends on what buyers need at the time.

What about privacy and personal data?

Nothing is shared before a contract is signed. The contract sets out how personal data is removed or de-identified, who does it, and what the buyer may use the data for. You decide what's in scope, and you can say no at any stage before signing.

Who pays, and what does it cost me?

Nothing. I'm paid a referral fee by the buyer. It costs you nothing. Any license fee for your data is agreed between you and the buyer and paid to you.

How much is my data worth?

It depends on the data: type, volume, age, quality and current buyer demand. Some sets may earn a meaningful license fee; others may not be a fit. I'll tell you honestly after the first review, and I won't quote a number I can't stand behind.

How long does it take?

I reply to every email within [TO FILL: e.g. 2 working days]. If there's a fit, the introduction usually follows within [TO FILL: e.g. 1–2 weeks]. Contract and data delivery timing depends on the buyer and the size of the data set.

Do I have to sell my company?

No. You license a copy of the data. You keep the business, the systems and the original records.

Can closed or liquidated companies take part?

Yes. For liquidators and insolvency practitioners, a company's data can be an extra asset to realise for creditors, at no cost to the estate and with minimal time required. The same rule applies: contract first, with de-identification agreed before anything is shared.

Who are the buyers?

I work with several vetted AI data buyers. I don't name them publicly; once there's a likely fit, you'll know exactly who you're dealing with before anything is signed.

How do I start?

Email [TO FILL: [email protected]] with a line about your company and the records you hold. Everything happens by email until you decide to go ahead.
